Meet Angelo and Vicky Di Zio, the creative husband and wife team behind Cakes by Zio Diz in Sydney, Australia.
Vicky and Angelo grew up learning to cook and went on to become professional chefs. With loads of kitchen experience between the two of them, opening their own business was the natural next step. Six years ago, the dynamic duo decided to focus on creating novelty cakes that not only look amazing, but taste great too. They are nailing it!
On top of being the head-baker, Vicky is also the photographer and social media manager. Angelo is the cake decorator extraordinaire, and as you can see, Angelo is meticulous when it comes to detail. He enjoys a good challenge and loves creating cakes that push his creativity to new heights. With a little help from LorAnn’s Bakery Emulsion flavors like coconut and lemon, they have more than succeeded in their goal of creating amazing-looking, great-tasting cakes.
The Di Zios are not only highly creative, hardworking business owners, they are also parents to three children, Stephanie, Nicole, and Christian. Angelo and Vicky feel it is important to teach their kids basic culinary skills like food prep, knife handling, cooking methods, and hygiene. Not only is this a great way to spend time together as a family, the kids gain a sense if independence and confidence. The children enjoy cutting pasta, making hamburgers, and using cookie cutters to create fondant cake decorations. They are well on their way to becoming experts in the kitchen, just like Mom and Dad.
